Donate as You Search the Web

Here's an easy way to help support Mano a Mano. We are on Good Search, a Yahoo-powered search engine that raises money for the nonprofit of your choice each time you search the web. All you do is go to the Good Search website, select Mano a Mano Medical Resources as your charity, and then search as you normally would. We earn about a penny a search as you browse.

Donating Medical Supplies or Equipment

If you can help Mano a Mano with donations of medical items, please call 651-457-3141. We will talk with you about the items you have available, determine if we are able to use them, and make a plan for transporting them to our storage area.

Gifts to Mano a Mano are tax deductible as defined by law. Funds are used to:

  • Transport and distribute donated medical items
  •  Construct and staff clinics in rural Bolivian communities
  • Fund projects that will improve health and living standards  in clinic communities
  • Purchase critically needed medical equipment  that is not donated
  • Support ongoing operations

Donor alert

Donor alert: An anonymous donor has offered Mano a Mano a challenge grant. The donor is offering a dollar-for-dollar match to continue building schools, teacher housing and sanitation projects with a $700,000 budget over seven years. Mano a Mano's cost to construct a clinic is approximately $20,000, plus staffing costs of about $10,500 per year. A gift for clinic
construction will trigger a 3 to 1 match from the donor!!

Mano a Mano is an exceptionally frugal organization, stretching every dollar it receives. Our combined administrative and fundraising cost in the U.S. totals less than 2% of our expenses (based on 2004 audited financial statement). If you would like to have a copy of our audited statements, please contact us at 651-457-3141.

We also meet all standards established by the Minnesota Charities Review Council. The Council sets guidelines for public disclosure, governance, financial activity and fundraising, then analyzes the performance of Minnesota charities against these standards. As the Charities Review Council puts it, approval is a way "to demonstrate responsibility, integrity and transparency to constituents."
