Air Transport and Emergency Air Rescue

Flying two Cessna turbo 206 aircraft, Mano a Mano uses air transport to reach many of Bolivia’s most remote communities.

The opportunity to use air as opposed to land travel literally saves weeks of staff travel time. Mano a Mano now has several clinics that are more than a ten hour drive from the city. On weekends medical specialist volunteers travel to rural communities to provide care, using air transport to reach more distant locations.

Mano a Mano simply could not expand its programs into these isolated areas without aviation support.

The aircraft have also been used extensively to airlift critically ill and injured patients from isolated areas to city hospitals, where their care has meant the difference between life and death.
